Here we go again...

I feel like this is a never-ending road...it is really. Unfortunately I am one of those people that always need to keep on the track. So, I am hoping I am back on the track now. The last couple of months have been tough and I knew summer was going to be, but I have thrown all my work to the wind and eaten with careless abandon!

I am back from a one-week vacation with family where we gorged on fresh oysters, clams, crab and prawns with renewed vitality for exercise. I was injured for a couple of months (pulled calf muscle) and I let this weigh me down, literally! So, Saturday I started back on the treadmill, grocery shopped for only good things to keep in the house and pre-made some meals so things are easy to grab. This way, at least during the better part of the day I am eating well and then hopefully also at dinner when I cook for myself.

I have a ball tournament this weekend and this will be a challenge, but no drinking - personal choice and I will be packing some snacks so that I don't have to grab bad stuff... I have 4 weeks until the Nanaimo tournament and I want to be in better shape for running by then with my leg and health-wise in general. 5 weeks until Beer Fest and I have a lovely dress that I would like to wear..so we'll see how that goes and how comfortable I feel in it...if it doesn't work I have a back up and I can save that dress for the end of Sept...I am hoping to do a little vacation when I have 2 weeks off, so we'll see what kind of money I have and where I might go.

So here we go again, and in one month I will be back at yoga and boot camp. Go girl, you have until March to get bikini ready for your winter vacation!! YOU CAN DO IT!

Persistence

Well, I think I have figured it out. The more you exercise, the more you are motivated to exercise more. I seem to be in a zone right now and I think I can stick with it. It's crazy, but I actually enjoy working out. Claudia has really helped me see the other side of things and how important "I" am. I do a lot of cardio now and I am starting a boot camp in mid april. This is how my week will now look come April:

Monday - training, then yoga
Tuesday - boot camp
Thursday - training, then softball
Sunday - softball
** Cardio everywhere in between that I can fit it in **

My clothes are fitting better and I have had to buy new jeans because none of mine fit and jeans are a staple!! However, I am sure the pair I just bought will be too big before long with how things are going. I did the Wild Rose Detox and it went really well. I haven't stepped on a scale in 2 months and I think that really helps...Claudia just lets me know if things are up or down and they have been down the last 6 weeks. YAY!! I am going to be the biggest loser and look great and feel great and be healthy. Remember the main goal...healthy and strong!

March 2009

It's been a while since the last post, so here's a big update! Costa Rica was fabulous and I had a lot of fun. Lots of suntanning, a few cute boys and major relaxation. I even ziplined for the first and probably last time in my life. We'll just check that one off the bucket list...

Since I've been back from holidays though, I have a whole new outlook on things. I am really unhappy with me being unhealthy and being heavy is the major part of that. So...I have given up alcohol for a few weeks to help my system speed and clean things up. It hasn't been difficult at all. I thought it would be harder and maybe it will be come baseball season, but I would like to be able to have one beer or one glass of wine and not binge all night and feel terrible the next day...not a hangover, just bloated and heavy again. I am also eating much more regimented meals. I have breakfast at 7am (porridge oats, flax seeds, oat bran mixed with applesauce and topped with yogurt on top), then cottage cheese and fruit at 9:30am, a good lunch with protien and veggies and maybe one carb, a snack in the afternoon which sometimes consists of an apple and 10 almonds, or 1/2 protien bar, or a protien shake, a good dinner with protien and veggies and maybe one carb again and then some protien with fruit in the evening if I need it. It seems like a lot of food and it is...but I am losing weight!!

Tomorrow I am going to start the Wild Rose Detox. I have done it before and it really feels good. It won't be too much different than what I am doing now but cutting out ALL of the dairy and breads and sugar. It is 12 days, I think I can manage it :)

Cardio is going well, I have more energy. I try to get in at least 2 days of cardio on top of my 2 days of workouts with Claudia. I am trying to increase this and as I get more energy I feel it is easier to increase. Need to keep on it, because I am only 36 and I want to live a long life and if I am not healthy, I won't make it!!

Remember that you come first, no matter what happens!

January 2009

Well, no resolutions this year for my health...I made those in September and am sticking with them. I signed up with Claudia for a year so I feel like I am really making an effort. Although, I gotta tell, it's all about the accountability because when you are at home, it is so easy to just not exercise. I do it there because I am paying to and because I enjoy my time with her.

As for the food...well, I flubbed that up over the holidays, but Claudia is making me more accountable to that too and she gave me a meal plan and I am going to really try and follow it as best I can. I am also going to journal what I am eating and bring it to her every session, so we can see where my fallouts are.

I am leaving for Costa Rica next Thursday and although it is an all-inclusive and I will definitely be drinking..can't not drink!! I have promised myself to not go crazy on the food and to try and keep to a healthy eating pattern. I am sure there will be lots of choices...if I chose the drink as my vice, then I have to do something good along with it!! I don't think I am going to comfortably make it into the jean capri's I was hoping for, but I have some other really nice outfits and I know I am going to have a memorable time.

Will write more when I get back...for now...happy excercising and eating well for 2009!!
